We are no longer strangers to stories that tackle how humans become selfless to help dogs who are in need. These stories are a source of happiness for most dog lovers because of the reasons behind supporting them. This North Carolina woman went the extra mile as she helped a hairless pooch.

Wendy Scarborough, a dog rescue volunteer, shelled out over $2,500 to help transport a hairless pooch from Peru to North Carolina. The reason for this is that Wendy wants to help the pooch in her dilemma. Since Wendy is a dog rescue volunteer, she is already adept with issues surrounding dogs.

Wendy is also home to different rare dog breeds, including five Spanish podencos, two galgos, and others. She said she finds fulfillment in lending a hand to these peculiar dogs.

Recently, Wendy yet again made it to the headlines after she adopted Fable, the hairless pooch. Before Fable arrived under Wendy’s custody, people from Peru likened the dog’s condition to that of the Egyptian god of death. Wendy, though, thinks otherwise. According to Wendy, the dog is a Peruvian Hairless pooch.

Based on Wendy’s study, the dog is rare because this dog breed became extinct during the early 1990s. Wendy further shared that Fable’s condition should not be taken against the dog because it is normal. In an interview, Wendy said that even though people think that Fable would bring bad luck to her, she does not believe it. Instead, she believes that the pooch is a unique dog with unique talents.

Wendy likewise shared that each time she goes to the mall with the pooch, she often gets stopped by the guards. This pains her because people see the pooch not the same way she sees Fable. Even then, Wendy vowed that she would continue to love the dog so that Fable would not feel that he is not loved.
