Basic command training is a necessity for every dog owner. Dogs’ ability to follow is what makes them manageable during walks and trips outside. That’s why the dog trainer Victoria Stilwell makes sure her clients learn the basics.
Victoria worked on Apple and Zuzu, who are two very destructive dogs. Their owners had forced them to live in the backyard and only bringing them inside during the evening. Because of this, the dogs didn’t have time for proper command training.
Victoria told the owners that before she can address their destructive habit, they must first learn basic training. Without that, fixing their issues is near impossible. The trainer started with name recognition.
Victoria called out the names of each dog. Her tone conveyed a joyous tone. When the dogs responded to their names, they were given a treat. From that point, Victoria proceeded with command training.
Once again, she used treats to urged the dogs to sit. The owners were amazed to see how fast Apple and Zuzu learned the commands. The two were certainly smart, and the owners saw that.
Victoria also worked with the owner’s children in training the dogs. She worked on Apple and Zuzu’s recall training. Victoria and the kids took turns having the dogs come to them. As usual, they were given treats every time they followed.
The trainer also introduced a tunnel as a training tool. Terrier dogs like Apple and Zuzu love obstacle courses like the one Victoria brought. She had the dogs go through them.
Zuzu was more excited and immediately ran through it. Apple was a little cautious. However, in the end, both dogs got used to all the activities that Victoria introduced.
The family had discovered the joys of interacting with their dogs. The children are constantly playing with them as well as the parents. Since Apple and Zuzu are always preoccupied, they no longer have time to be destructive in the backyard or inside the house.
