According to Linda Munkley, a dog lover who lives with her two German Shepherds, Enya and Bea, in Bargoed, South Wales, she has her dogs to thank for being alive and well. Everything changed when she began noticing a strange behavior as Enya and Bea headbutted and sniffed her chest more often.
This strange behavior went on for several months, and it made Linda start checking her chest for anything that would feel like lumps. Her checks, however, came back negative as she found everything was it should be.
Eight weeks later, after regular headbutts and sniffing from Enya and Bea, Linda finally felt a small lump on her breasts. She rushed to the hospital for a checkup, and after her doctors conducted a mammogram, they confirmed to her that she had a form of breast cancer that grew at a fast rate.
The breast cancer even tried to spread to her lymph nodes. She was treated successfully, and she is great now. During her interview with Wales Online, Linda confirmed that Bea and Enya continued their weird behavior even during her chemotherapy treatment period. It was not until her third chemo session that they both stopped sniffing and headbutting her.
No one can explain why these amazing dogs behaved in that manner, but Linda is grateful as they saved her life. Linda had about six months of chemotherapy and after that, she had an operation to remove the lump before having another month of radiotherapy. After the successful removal of the lump, doctors confirmed that the chemotherapy killed the cancer cells.
Linda told the doctors about the behaviors of Enya and Bea, and they, too, were more than impressed. This extraordinary story reached everyone in the hospital. Linda was finally cancer-free thanks to her two excellent dogs.
