The Doggy

Three Good-Hearted Louisiana Teenagers Save Injured Dog Hit By A Car

13-year-old Wade Harrell was riding in the countryside with his two friends, Tyler Cancienne and Brayden Mauroner, when they chanced upon a dog lying motionless near the road. The Acadia Parish, Louisiana residents stopped their bikes and checked to see if the pooch was still alive.

When they got near the injured pup, they noticed that his head and eyes were moving. It was likely that he got hit by a car and was too hurt to stand or move around. Concerned that he may get hit by another speeding vehicle, the three turned their bikes upside down and formed a barricade around the dog.

Wade then called a nonprofit animal charity organization named Haseya's New Beginning Animal Rescue for help.

There is still hope

Rescuers from the charity group rushed to the area and thanked the boys for calling them. After assessing the dog's condition, they said that there was still hope for him to survive. Together, the rescuers placed the medium-sized pup in a blanket and used it as a hammock to transfer the dog inside their vehicle. They then returned to their shelter, where the pooch could get treated and have a comfortable place to rest and recover.

A vet examined the injured canine and said that he suffered from a hip injury. He was also hungry and dehydrated, so he didn't have much energy. Before making any further decisions about treating his injuries, they gave the dog some pain medication, food and water, and a soft bed.

Missing pet

At first, they thought that the pooch was a stray, and they wanted to name him Wade, after the boy who called them. But then, after posting the dog's photo on social media, a family called the shelter and informed him that the pup was theirs, and he had been missing for around a week already. His name is Taz, and they are so happy that he has been found.

The shelter and Taz's family are grateful that Wade and his friends had found the dog. If it were other kids, they might have just ignored him.
