When a dog parent goes away for college, it's one of the toughest times for any pooch. They are used to seeing their mom or dad on a daily basis, and then just like that, they're gone. Of course, our pups wouldn't understand, but a college education is something that is incredibly important for many people.
Sadly, our pups have no other choice but to try to cope with being alone for several months. If only more universities are welcoming of pet dogs, then this wouldn't be a problem at all. Maybe someday schools will be able to find a solution to this doggie problem. But for now, dog parents and dogs alike have to work through the loneliness.
Luckily for this pup, her human grandpa came to the rescue. Tara's mom, Annie Shi, had to go away for college. At first, Tara found solace by lying on top of Annie's bed and clothes. She stayed in Annie's room a lot, and this is probably because Annie's scent is all over the room.
However, this trick was no longer working for Tara after a couple of weeks. She stopped entering the room and just stood in front of Annie's door. It seemed like she was waiting for her mom to open it and let her in. But we all know that's not happening. Annie's dad noticed this, and he thought of a solution for the pup.
He was uncertain at first, but he had to give it a try. After all, he had nothing to lose. He started using Annie's room as his office. He spent all day inside the room to do his work, and it was very effective. Tara started hanging out inside her mom's room again.
It seemed that Tara still felt lonely despite being surrounded by Annie's scent. Annie's dad being in the room with her, remedied the pup's loneliness. When Annie was asked about his dad's brilliant idea, she thought that it wasn't just for Tara. Her dad probably misses her too, and that setup fixes the problem for both her dad and her pup.
