In a South Korean rural village, a young woman has a white Jindo dog named Jinsoon. The woman tied Jinsoon with a leash near a shelter made of old pallets so Jinsoon could guard the woman’s home from its doghouse.
After a few months, Jinsoon became pregnant. Though the owner doesn’t know when her dog found a mate, she happily accepted the fact she will have more dogs soon. Unfortunately, Jinsoon lost all its babies after they were born. Since then, Jinsoon quietly stood guard at its post looking lonely and sad.
The sudden appearance of puppies
A few months later, the woman checked on Jinsoon. Jinsoon went out of its shelter after its owner called her out. To the owner’s surprise, she saw two little puppies inside the shelter as well.
The woman never noticed Jinsoon getting fat nor pregnant again. But the two puppies were also white and of the same breed as Jinsoon. Out of concern that the puppies’ owners were looking for them, the woman went around her neighborhood inquiring if anyone lost the little creatures.
One of the neighbors told her, he saw a similar puppy roaming the trees nearby. The woman and other neighbors went to the nearby forest and found the puppy. They gave the puppy to the woman since she already has the possible siblings of this puppy.
Jinsoon can’t be the mother of the puppies
To make sure the puppies were siblings and to check if they were Jinsoon’s offsprings, the woman had the dogs undergo genetic testing. The results revealed that the puppies were siblings. But the results also confirmed that Jinsoon was not their parent.
But even though Jinsoon was not their mother, the dog still cared for them like they were it’s own. Their birth mother probably abandoned the puppies. Jinsoon’s maternal instincts won’t let her ignore the needs of the puppies.
As for the woman, she already became attached to the puppies and decided to keep them. She would raise the puppies together with Jinsoon.
