Terrified Dog Dumped In Someone’s Property Transforms Into The Happiest Dog Within An Hour After Arriving In Her Foster Home

In Troy, Illinois, a homeowner was stunned when he discovered there was a dog in his yard. He quickly called animal control and the officers immediately responded. They took the pup and transferred it to the care of Partner 4 Pets, a rescue and adoption center in the city.

The dog, now called Piper, was believed to be feral at first. But she was too terrified to be around humans and did not show any sign of aggression. She did not even fight or resist at all. She just cowered in a corner and refused to interact with anyone.

The shelter environment proved to be too much for Piper. She needed the comfort of a home. Fortunately for her, Angela and Courtney, a couple who have lots of experience taking care of terrified rescue dogs, stepped forward and took her in.

It took a little coaxing and lots of encouragement before Piper reluctantly walked out of her kennel. But when she was finally out in the yard, she felt mortified again and tried to hide behind a tiny cat carrier. She always found a spot where she thought she could hide.

Arriving in her foster home, Piper immediately darted into the bathroom and hid. She decided she wasn't leaving that place anymore until she saw her foster dog siblings playing in the yard. Suddenly, she stood up, introduced herself, and played with them.

Piper's transformation happened in about 60 minutes. She was a little shy and doubtful to let her foster moms get too close but eventually, she let them sit beside her. Soon, she trusted them enough that she started to eat straight out of their hands.

The dog learned she can be inside the house without losing her freedom and she also discovered that she can step outside without the fear of becoming homeless. She learned to trust, and gained confidence. She counted on her foster moms and entrusted her life to them.

Piper had an incredibly amazing transformation and that's the reason why Angela and Courtney adored her so much. They decided to let her stay for good. And while many might call it a foster failure, they referred to it as an adoption success.
