Local rescue group Hope For Paws was made aware of a nervous dog living in an industrial complex in downtown L.A. Eldad Hagar, its founder, immediately decided to rescue the animal. He asked his rescue partner Loreta Frankonyte to join him since securing a terrified canine presented a considerable challenge.
Kyle Bova, the employee who called about the dog, mentioned that he and his co-workers looked out for the animal when it arrived in their work area. They tried capturing it but failed to even get close. This made them decide to call in experts to do the job.
Arriving at the location, Eldad and Loreta spotted a black dog sitting just outside the property right away. The moment the animal saw them, it fled. The rescuers gave chase for several minutes and eventually got the canine to enter the enclosed yard.
Cornered, the dog furiously barked at the rescuers. Unfazed, Eldad and Loreta persevered in getting close to it. The animal ran circles around the two and tried to escape the yard, even ignoring the food the rescuers offered.
Failing to get away, the dog started getting more agitated and growled at its rescuers, even baring its teeth. Eldad and Loreta patiently waited for the right opportunity to loop the animal in with their gentle snares. They did not want to risk getting bitten, but they also didn’t want to give up on the canine.
Night soon fell, but the dog still evaded its rescuers and retreated under a parked car in the yard. Eldad and Loreta decided to close in on the animal on both sides and carefully coaxed it out from under. Luckily, they soon successfully secured the canine in a crate.
The rescuers thanked Kyle for his help and drove the dog, whom they named Maddy, back to the local medical facility. Eldad realized that Maddy’s aggression was due to her being in heat. Once they got to the hospital, the doctors spayed Maddy, which improved her behavior considerably.
After fully recovering physically, Maddy moved in as a foster with the German Shepherd Safe Haven. The love and training she received from her foster family completely transformed Maddy. The once terrified and aggressive dog turned into a happy, fun-loving animal, and in no time, Maddy found her forever home.
