There is no saying how much time the little dog has been trapped down the open sewer in the middle of the woods in the city of Kansan in Missouri. One thing’s for sure. She held on to life and refused to give up hope.
Luckily, a man who happened to be passing by within the area heard the little pup’s cry for help. Right then and there, the kindhearted man knew he needed to answer to call. The dramatic encounter that led to the rescue being on cam. Here’s the footage:

“This is a remarkable Good Samaritan story that embodies the ‘right place at the right time’ saying,” wrote KC Pet Project rescuers on Facebook.
Shortly after, the man called and asked for help to bring the frightened pup into safety. Surprisingly, considering the ordeal she went through, the little puppy never became severely injured or harmed.
“She had been scared, that’s understandable. But with a few canned food, she quickly warmed up,” said one of the rescuers. “Despite the 10–feet fall, at the very least, she didn't have any broken bone though she was skinny.”
Thankfully, the sweet little white dog is now safe. The dog remains with KC Pet Project she’s recovering strength and health. As the word spread about her, the rescuers are hopeful that they’ll come to find her rightful family. But in case no one comes forward to claim her. Eventually, she goes for adoption.

Uncovered manholes pose a great and serious threat not just to animals but also to humans. Any living creature could fall and be trapped inside. Hopefully, the problem has since been remedied by the authorities. After all, the puppy would not have lasted any longer if her frantic and endless barking had gone unnoticed.
“We are so thankful that somebody found her then acted quickly,” said the rescuers.
