We will never truly know how dogs struggle because they can’t tell us. Even so, this young Pit Bull’s story will give us an idea of just how much our beloved canines bear challenges in silence, and we hope this story inspires you and keeps you going.
This little pittie’s name is Nubby. He had a malformation on his upper legs, so when the vet saw the puppy’s situation, he suggested euthanasia. Lou and Mark Robertson, Nubby’s owners, did not agree.
Nubby’s pittie mom accepted him, but he couldn’t latch on to his mom’s nipples because of his birth defect and his healthy siblings. That’s when Lou and Mark decided to bottle-feed the puppy so that he would have a chance at life.
They took turns feeding and caring for Nubby until he began to gain weight. He was never truly alone because the Robertsons were very hands-on with him. After a couple of weeks, they noticed that Nubby sneezed constantly and that he couldn’t really bark.
They took him to the vet, and there, it was found he had esophagus problems. He was incubated for weeks, and little Nubby fought for his life. He knew that his parents wanted him to live, so the tiny warrior did his part and fought for his life.
His indomitable spirit and unwavering will to live got him through the worst, and Nubby was able to come home to the Robertsons. They were elated that their Nubby was home, so they pampered their little fighter of a pup.
Nubby grew to be a wonderful pittie, handsome, calm, and kind. He fought through the worst and he kept going. With his wonderful parents’ support, he pulled through beautifully.
Let this be a reminder to all reading this story that life will get better. Imagine the life you want and then go and fight for it!
