Getting involved in a car crash is a horrifying experience. Even if you manage to survive scratch-free, there is a lot of stuff to deal with.
Now, what if, on top of all those things, you lost your beloved dog as well? That is surely a lot of pressure to endure.
One woman from California almost broke down when she couldn’t handle losing her dog. But thankfully, they were reunited. Her dog was fine, but she went through a lot.
Ejected from her seat
Princess is a small seven-year-old Terrier-mix that is deeply loved by her owner. Anywhere her human mom goes, Princess is usually by her side. Then one day, while they were in their car on a highway in Berkeley, they got involved in a serious car crash.
Because of the impact, the little dog got ejected from her seat and thrown outside the vehicle. Scared and confused, Princess ran away.
80 miles away
Nobody knew how she did it, but somehow, Princess wound up in Sacramento, around 80 miles away from Berkeley. A resident found her wandering the streets and brought her to Front Street Shelter, which is operated by the City of Sacramento.
The shelter staff knew right away that the dog wasn’t a stray. The little pooch was sweet and gentle, and it seemed that she was very experienced with human interaction. They scanned her for a microchip but sadly, the registered number was no good.
Eventually, they had to put her up for adoption. Amazingly though, despite her amazing character, no one wanted to adopt her. Which ended up being a good thing.
The dog’s owner, who never gave up looking for her, was going through the websites of every shelter that she could find in California. After two months of searching, she found her beloved pet on the Front Street Shelter site.
She immediately got in touch with the shelter staff, and the two were reunited shortly after.
