Rescue workers of the charitable group The Dogs of Bali headed out right away when they learned that a puppy was found at the bottom of a ravine. They were yet to know the puppy's condition but they knew they had to act promptly, or it would be too late to save it.
While waiting for help. the puppy sat in cold water and did not move an inch. Bystanders thought it was completely motionless because it was too scared to make any movement, but they were wrong. The poor puppy had two broken legs and it surely was in agony so it stayed still.
Quickly, the rescuers climbed down the ditch to get the puppy to safety. Once they did, they rushed it to their clinic for medical care. Everyone felt relieved when the vet said that the puppy's injuries weren't that serious and that they would heal in no time.
After leaving the clinic, the puppy needed a place to stay and Elise, one of the head rescuers, decided to take it home. She offered to foster the puppy for a while but she ended up falling in love with it. She named it Saga and made it an official member of her family.
Saga received all the love and care he needed to heal. But the events that happened caused him more than just physical pain. He suffered emotionally, too. Getting dumped in the ravine left him so fearful, especially of water.
No matter how small the puddle was, Saga froze in fear. He didn't get to enjoy their trips to the beach or to the river because he was too scared to dip his paws in the water. While the rest of the dogs visiting the sea had fun, he just sat on the sand and watched.
Elise slowly introduced Saga back into the water. At first, she carried him in the pool, and when she deemed he was ready for a bigger body of water, she took him back to the river nearby. To her surprise, he jumped right into it, and the next time they visited, he even crossed the river on his own.
Today, Saga spends most of his time swimming, playing, and jumping in any body of water. When he isn't out, he joins Elise as she practices yoga. He is confident to do whatever he likes because he knows his mom will never let anything bad happen to him again.
