AJ is a six-year-old pit bull mix that was surrendered by his family to a shelter. According to them, they are moving somewhere else and they didn't want to take care of him anymore.
Jovial
The shelter workers couldn't believe what they heard but there was nothing they could do. They would rather have the dog with them instead of being homeless and living in the streets.
At first, the dog seemed happy as he walked into his kennel. That was just his nature. But when he realized that he was alone and that he had been left by his family, he started getting confused. His jovial mood quickly turned around.
Depressed
The poor pooch started crying and would do so every day. Although the shelter staff gave him some attention and would take him out at times, he still longed for his owners. Soon enough, he even refused to come out of his kennel anymore. This made the staff sad, especially when he stopped eating his meals.
The dog was depressed and was starting to shut down. This would make it even more difficult to get him adopted. They had to do something to give him another shot at happiness.
Viral
One of the shelter staff took a video of him crying and posted it on their Facebook page. They wrote that the dog is very sweet and gentle, but is missing his family so much. He needs a good home that will shower him with love and make him feel that everything is going to be fine.
The post quickly went viral and was then shared hundreds of times. Many people saw how sad the poor pooch was and helped look for a family for him. Eventually, several of them went in and expressed their desire to adopt the crying dog. After a few days, a suitable family was selected.
AJ is finally happy again. Hopefully, this time, it will be for good.
