Dogs are masters at serving the good vibes, and these Golden Retrievers named Sterling and Colin are the perfect example of it. They visited Niagara Falls and gave out free hugs, and the dogs loved it.
Okay, it wasn’t their idea, but the dogs willingly let everyone rub, hold, pet, and hug them. They were such a sport about it that people not only enjoyed the Niagara experience but were also treated to an unexpected encounter with these handsome and friendly dogs.
The reason behind their human mom deciding to let them go and give free hugs is, she had a friend named Scout who passed away. Scout apparently got a thrill in giving free hugs, so she took Sterling and Colin out to do the same in Scout’s memory.
What a noble endeavor, and such thoughtfulness from Sterling and Colin’s mom! We just know that Scout would have been stoked about the idea and would have had a blast if he were still around. It’s incredible how a small act can profoundly impact so many.
Sterling and Colin probably didn’t know that whole backstory, but they definitely enjoyed the sights and sounds of Niagara Falls. They were especially happy to meet so many kind people who petted, hugged, and gave them body rubs!
After the dogs were all hugged out, they were treated to a picturesque little cafe where they enjoyed drinks from puppy cups, some fish cutlets, and other yummy treats. We think those treats were fitting given the boys’ good behavior.
It’s always fun to be rewarded for doing something that comes naturally to us, but it’s more rewarding to honor someone who passed. These dogs and their owner definitely did Scout an honor, and we think they should make this a yearly tribute!
