Dogs are some of the most loveable beings on this planet. They’re loyal, genuine, and empathetic, and they’re also a source of juvenile thrills.
That’s what this Golden Retriever named Gracie brought to The Good Samaritan Society nursing facility in Scotland, North Dakota. A little puppy with a golden personality’s just what everyone needed.
The golden pet became the residents’ go-to friend, and they couldn’t be happier. Workers in this nursing home said that they’ve observed a general rise in spirits when Gracie joined them.
While medications can help the physical body, they don’t do much for the soul. That’s where Gracie helped everyone in the nursing home. She became a friend to all, and she was good at it.
She’d allow herself to be held, and she’d come to residents who were feeling a bit down in the dumps. It’s amazing how a little how-are-you-let’s-play routine can lift a person’s mood.
It must be lonely to be living away from family, with fellow weary souls, and putting your needs in strangers’ hands. That’s why Gracie’s young and positive presence meant the world to them.
Gracie became particularly close to an elderly gentleman who’s been in a wheelchair for the longest time. He’d light up whenever Gracie came to play with him, and the doggo felt the same.
Her wide smile when her old friend allowed her to sit on his lap for hugs and kisses said it all. Gracie was genuinely happy to be with her friend, and she enjoyed spending time with him as much as he did.
We’re glad that Gracie’s able to give people in their twilight years an unexpected friendship and tons of warm and happy feelings. For many of them, Gracie became someone they could look forward to.
Thank you for giving joy and spreading positivity around you, pet. You’re loved, adored, and appreciated!
