Dogs make the best baby sitters. They are a natural when it comes to protecting helpless, young animals regardless of the species. They are very loving and loyal and have the instinct to protect and care for babies.
Ryder is a German Shepherd who is very protective of his new sister Madison. He was constantly checking on her, making sure that she is okay. Ryder was very caring and loving towards the baby. So when his Husky brother, gets too curious of baby Madison, Ryder made sure he doesn’t get near the baby.
Watch the funny video below as Ryder tried to ward off the curious Husky away from baby Madison.
The video just proved that animals are friendly and emotional creatures. Their ability to protect and care for others so vulnerable is genuinely incredible.
This behavior can be attributed to a dog protective instinct. Before they were domesticated, dogs live in packs. They protect each other; they feed each and take care of each other. The stronger dogs protect the weakest pack member.
After they became loyal companions, dogs view their human families as packs. Hence, their instinct to protect will show. A dog may see a baby to be the weakest member in the ‘pack,’ this would prompt them to go on a stealth mode.
In Ryder’s case, he knows that his brother the Husky can become too much excited and he sees his sister Madison as very fragile. So he is hypervigilant for his sister’s safety.
For those of you who are concerned, Madison’s parents have already introduced both dogs to baby doll a few weeks before their baby’s arrival. However, even though they trust their dogs, they don’t live their baby alone with them.
What a great dog Ryder is. I’m sure when she gets older, she already has her brothers as her playmates and bodyguards.
