Dogs can be your lifelong best friends and four-legged guardian angels.

Dogs can serve as our guardians whenever we are in danger. They have saved the lives of humans many times. They have also served as a comfort for us when we are sad or in pain. Dogs have also assisted the dying in passing away quietly.

The Hall family of Minneapolis had two Basset Hounds named Gracie and Grumpy who were eight years old. The two pets had been the source of joy and happiness for the family.

Upon first seeing Nora, the youngest member of the family, Gracie and Grumpy embraced her with open arms. Gracie would always console Nora if she heard her crying.

A few months after her birth, Nora had a stroke. Nora was brought to the Children's Hospital immediately for treatment. However, after three weeks of no improvement, the doctors told them the truth: Nora would not survive.

Mary and her husband were devastated by the tragic news. They were also concerned that their two dogs might search for Nora if they returned home without her. The nurses inquired whether they had any specific requests before Nora passed away. They requested permission to bring their dogs to the hospital to see Nora for the final time.

As soon as Mary and her husband brought Gracie and Grumpy to the hospital, they lowered Nora's bed so the two dogs could climb and comfort her during her final moments. They kissed her and then slept by her side.

Nora died one month after experiencing a stroke. Mary and her husband were grateful to the hospital staff for granting their simple request that their beloved Nora spend her final moments with her two favorite dogs.

Nora left the planet at the age of five months. Moreover, Grumpy and Gracie assisted Mary and her husband in coping with the loss of their child.
