The city maintenance staff of a bridge in Wuhan, China got curious when they noticed a dog staying in one place for several days. They didn't know how long he had been there and who owned the pooch.
When they tried to go near him, the small pup would run away. But he would return when he noticed that no one was around his spot.
The staff decided to investigate, and they reviewed the footage from the surveillance cameras. They discovered that the dog had been with his human several nights before. Although the footage was dark and grainy, they could clearly see that the person willfully jumped off the bridge. Unfortunately, they could not identify the dog owner.
Waiting patiently
After his human jumped off the bridge, the dog never left the area. He probably didn't know what to do. It seemed that the confused pooch was waiting for his owner to climb up the bridge again and get him. The loyal dog patiently stayed there for days, evading capture from rescuers.
A lot of residents got concerned about the dog's welfare. Some tried to rescue him, but the pooch refused to go with anyone.
Gone
One Good Samaritan brought him food and water regularly. He felt terrible for the small pup and wanted to adopt him. He eventually gained the dog's trust and got him inside his car. However, when they stopped near the man's house, the dog bolted when the car door was opened. The man asked for help from various shelter volunteers, but they couldn't find him anywhere.
City officials encouraged their citizens to be on the lookout for the loyal dog. They are hopeful that he will be found and given a good home. Although it is understandable that the pup would grieve for his human, he also deserves to live a happy and safe life.
