Emaciated Stray Bull Dog Doubles His Size After Rescuers Took Him Off The Streets And Given To A Loving Foster Family In Kentucky

Bubbins is a bulldog that was found in terrible health in rural Kentucky. Not only was he all skin and bones, but his body was also covered in scabies. The homeless pooch was so weak from lack of nutrition that he could not go around and scavenge for food. This compounded his health problems.

Thankfully, a charity group from Cincinnati called Queen City Bulldog Rescue heard about the poor pooch and immediately took him off the streets. They then gave Bubbins to T.J. and Nikki, a couple who frequently volunteers as foster parents for the rescue group.

Quarantined

Because of his contagious skin condition, Bubbins was placed under quarantine. The kind couple had their own pet pooch, and they had to keep them separated until their new foster dog got better. But even then, they could see that the two dogs were very eager to get together. They would frequently look at each other through the glass door.

Despite his rough past, Bubbins was a very affectionate and trusting dog. When he grew stronger, he frequently went to his foster parents seeking attention. He loves being close to humans and showing his affection. Maybe he is very grateful for being taken off the streets.

Double the size

After 45 days, Bubbins was finally clear of his scabies. The first time he finally got to play with the couple’s other dog, both of them played the whole day. The former stray was showing good progress both mentally and physically. He just kept growing every day.

Within six months, he had already doubled his size.

All throughout his journey to getting better, one couple followed his progress. Even when he was sick, they were already interested in adopting Bubbins. When he was finally fully healed, they got to take the dog home.

The bulldog was more than happy to be with his new family, who also owns a dog of the same breed. They have gotten close pretty fast, and it looks like Bubbins finally found the family that he could stay with forever.
