India’s Animal Aid Unlimited rescued a stray pup in the streets of India, whom they later named Mabel.
The volunteers found her wandering the streets alone and in poor health. She lacked fur all over her body and was almost skin and bones.
They knew that Mabel needed immediate medical attention or else, she’s not going to last long in these streets.
Animal aid volunteers took her straight to the shelter. There an in-house veterinarian further assessed her condition.
The Vet found that Mabel was severely underweight and dehydrated.
She immediately started to hydrate her by hooking her up with an I. V fluids.
The veterinarian also addressed her skin condition; However, it was not easy to cure and took a long time before she healed completely.

In this video, you can see how underweight Mabel was and how her skin looked rough and tough.
Also, the absence of fur on her body shows the severity of her skin condition. It's not clear as to what type of skin disease Mabel has, but it's causing her to itch a lot.
She needed a special medicated bath to relieve the itch and allow her fur to grow back.
It took the staff two months of work before Mabel started to heal. She is a lot healthier, happier, and her fur grew back.
She looks like a different dog. It wasn’t long before Mabel started to heal emotionally also.
This encouraged her to come out of her shell.
From a shy and timid dog who wouldn’t even step out of her kennel to a social, fun-loving dog. At times she is the life of the party.
Now, all she needs is a forever home, where she can spend her days with a family who can shower her with love.
