Dog With Large Tumor Wandering In Thai Pagoda Gets Life-Saving Surgery

Aside from shelter and food, homeless dogs are also in severe need of regular medical attention. They are vulnerable to many diseases and have higher risks of getting injured. Sadly, they rarely receive medical help, resulting in suffering and death.

There are those fortunate enough to get taken to a clinic, and this is due to the compassion of good-hearted people. One such dog who was at the receiving end of human kindness is a stray dog in Thailand.

Festering tumor

Local residents said the dog had been staying in a famous pagoda in the city since he was a pup. Nobody really bothered to take the dog home or care for him. Someone got him a dog dish, and sometimes, people would leave him some food.

The pooch never went hungry for too long, and he looked fit. But there was something that troubled him. A massive tumor was growing by the side of his body, just below his neck. Because it was left untreated, it grew large and became infected.

Pus was oozing out from the festering wound, and it caused the poor pooch a lot of pain. He suffered a long time before a kind soul ultimately decided to help the stray.

Round-the-clock care

A tourist with a soft spot for animals saw the poor pooch and immediately took him to a veterinarian. The lady told the clinic to take care of the dog and have him treated right away. The medical team was shocked to see the enlarged tumor and its advanced state of decomposition. Nevertheless, they cleaned the dog and prepared him for surgery.

Fortunately, the operation was a success. They completely got rid of the growth and kept him in the clinic to recuperate. The staff made sure that he was comfortable and got a good rest. When he was released, the pup was taken to a foster home and will stay there until he is found a new forever home.
