Dog Rescuer Finds A Litter Of Puppies And Their Mom Living Under A Couch

Dog Rescuer Finds A Litter Of Puppies And Their Mom Living Under A Couch

Sarah Jefferson July 17, 2022

While we live comfortably inside our warm homes, there are countless stray dogs out there that are struggling to survive. We may think that animals can cope with living outdoors, but we have to remember that, unlike wild animals,  domesticated animals like dogs need our help to survive.

Brady Oliveira is an animal rescuer in Manitoba, Canada. He's been rescuing and fostering stray dogs for several years. Brady also finds good forever homes for the dogs he rescues.

While driving around Manitoba, he came across a house with an old couch in the yard. Brady was surprised when he saw puppies coming out from under the couch and decided to stop his car to look at what was going on. When he and his fellow animal rescuer got nearer, several puppies greeted them. Brady realized that there was a litter of puppies living under the couch with the mama dog.

It was during the middle of winter when Brady found the puppies. He knew that the puppies wouldn't survive without any help. When Brady tried asking the property owner about the puppies, they weren't cooperative at all. Brady stated that under the Animal Control Act in Canada, authorities have the right to take someone's pets away if they aren't giving them proper care.

Brady knew that there was no way that he was going to leave the puppies and the mama dog there. So, he decided to take matters into his own hands and loaded the mama dog and her puppies in his car to give them better forever homes.

After Brady rescued the puppies and the mama dog, he met up with his network of fosters to take the puppies. Brady even fostered one of the puppies he got attached to during the rescue. In a matter of weeks, all the puppies got adopted, including the mama dog.

As a bonus, the puppy that Brady fostered got adopted by Brady's sister, Kallee. Brady was happy since it meant that he got to be the uncle of one of the puppies he rescued. Here's a video featuring Brady saving a family of puppies and giving them a chance to find the home they deserve.
