Dog Rescued From Frozen Lake By News Team

Sometimes dogs get scared over something that they would end up running away from home. When they do, their owners will start looking for them, enlisting the help of professionals in the process.

This is what happened to a dog from Lorain, Ohio. The black Labrador Retriever named Kimberly ran away from home and ended up stranded on the ice for the last five days. Luckily she was found and rescued by the WKYC news crew somewhere in Bay Villiage Ohio. She is thirty kilometers away from home and is stranded in the frozen Lake Erie.

Coast Guards from the area said it was impossible to save the dog through an air mission. The Fire Department also tried to save her, but the scared dog ran away. Coordinating with a local company called Air1Airboats, WKYC volunteered to conduct a search and rescue for the stowaway. Together with the boat captain Tony Muscioni, the rescue teams headed out to the frozen lake to start looking for the dog.

Luckily, the news team recorded the whole rescue plan and was able to document everything. When they finally spotted the black Labrador, she ran away from them as she is frightened by the noise of the boat. But Captain Muscioni realized he could approach her if he will get off the boat and try to contact the scared dog. But the cameraman, George Payamgis, grabs hold of Kimberly’s collar and pulled her into safety.

Watch the full rescue of Kimberly below.

After five long cold days, Kimberly is now back at home with her family. Amy Pritchard, Kimberly’s worried mom, was very thankful for the people who never gave up on her beloved companion. She could not thank them enough.

A big thank you for the people who made sure that Kimberly is back with her family safe and sound.
