Dog Patiently Waited For Light To Turn Green Before Crossing The Road

Dog Patiently Waited For Light To Turn Green Before Crossing The Road

Sarah Jefferson August 10, 2019

The different traffic lights and their meanings have been taught to us since we were kids. This only goes to show how this is basic knowledge that everyone should know from the start. They exist to bring order to traffic and to pedestrians who walk the streets.

They help in preventing accidents. But realistically, everyone knows that traffic lights aren't followed all the time. Accidents arise because of this negligence, and it could even mean the loss of lives. It's sad to think that something so simple is difficult to follow.

Five years ago, there was a dog in Brazil who reminded us how simple it is to follow these rules. As they say, we don't only learn from those who are older and wiser, we learn lessons from everyone. I guess this entails learning lessons from our beloved dogs, and let's face it, we could learn a thing or two from them.

The dog was recorded sitting patiently at the side of the road, in front of a crosswalk. There were two ladies in front of him, who were too eager to cross and ignored the traffic lights. Shame on these ladies! Despite seeing silly humans cross the street, the pup knew it wasn't yet time to do so.

Contrary to popular belief, dogs aren't really color blind. They are able to see hues, but the range of colors that they see is very limited compared to ours. So, it would be safe to presume that this pup can actually recognize the colors of the lights, and he understands what they entail.

Also, the fact that he got up when the pedestrian signal light was about to turn green reinforces the theory that he understands what the different lights mean. He probably saw the traffic light turn orange, and that was his cue that he was about to cross the road. See the amazing video below.
