Dillon, a nine-year-old male Lurcher from the United Kingdom, is still looking for a new home.
Two years ago, the pup was discovered guarding the body of his deceased owner. He joined countless dogs in defending their humans when they needed it the most.
Dillon is currently living at the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) in Hayle, Cornwall. NAWT officers rescued him after they found him next to his owner, who had died. Since the incident, he has been patiently waiting for a new, loving family that will take care of him forever.
Amy Hall from NAWT stated that Dillon was rescued by the organization around two years ago. Since then, they have already seen many dogs come and go while the search for Dillon’s new home continues.
Dillon has been compared to Joey Tribbiani from the hit TV show Friends because he dislikes sharing, especially his owners. Despite his age, he is playful and has puppy-like enthusiasm. Dillon enjoys playtime in the garden and long walks. Because of his unwillingness to share and energy, he has struggled to find a permanent home. His personality necessitates extra, focused care.
According to NAWT, Dillon is highly territorial and does not want to share an owner. He prefers to have any potential humans all to himself. He was already adopted for a brief period but was returned because the owners desired a calmer dog and could not handle his hyperactivity.
However, even if Dillon wants to keep his owners all to himself, he is happy to go on walks with other dogs and even likes it when people bring their pets or children to play. Despite the long wait, NAWT continues to receive messages from people interested in Dillon. Hopefully, the loyal will find the right owners for him soon.
