The Doggy

Cleo, A Homesick Dog, Traveled 57 Miles To Return To Her Old House In Lawson, Missouri

Cleo, a four-year-old dog, disappeared from his home in Olathe, Kansas, only to be found a few days later at the family's old house in Lawson, Missouri, where they lived almost two years ago. The new owners, Colton Michael and his wife, returned home after a long day at work when they discovered the dog sleeping on their porch, near the front entrance of their house.

Cleo looked so well-groomed that it made the couple believe that the dog must belong to somebody.

Cleo didn't have a collar on, so Michael looked for a microchip. Thankfully, she had one, and it gave her owner's name. Michael said that his wife was the one who noticed that Cleo's owner had the same last name as the former owner of the house.

So he went onto Facebook to look up the owner's profile and discovered that the family dog disappeared almost a week ago. Michael immediately contacted the owner and told him about Cleo's whereabouts. Both of the families hadn't had the slightest clue how the dog got there.

They could only guess that Cleo must've traveled 57 miles from her present home in Kansas to her old home in Missouri. And that it must've been pure luck that Cleo still remembered her way back home, even though the family hadn't gone to their old house for a few years now. Regardless of how or why she traveled, her owner, Drew, said that he was simply happy that the dog was safe.

He said that nothing could describe how grateful he was to Michael's family for helping Cleo. He went on to say how he really felt whole now that Cleo was back in his arms once again. Nonetheless, not every lost pet story has a happy ending.

Thankfully, Cleo was lucky enough to get back home, safe and sound.
