Chance, The Rescue Dog, Reminds Her Fur Mom Of Her Old Dog, Pepito

Sometimes, your four-legged best friend leads you to someone special when it is their time to leave you. One fur mom did not know that her first dog, Pepito, would lead her to a new pup that would slowly remind her of him.

Pepito’s human mom and dad met little Pep at the shelter. Pepito’s mom shared with The Dodo that Pep was the only puppy in the pound that refused to look at them.

Pepito’s dad said that Pepito was the dog that he wants. Pepito’s mom found it odd that her husband wanted the pup who did not want to look at them, but she eventually gave in and took home the dog.

Pepito’s mom did not know that she would fall completely in love with Pepito. She described Pepito as her kindred spirit because of how much her little dog has made her happy.

Pepito and his parents celebrated the dog’s first birthday with them. Unfortunately, Pepito got sick shortly after the joyous occasion.

The doctors broke the heartbreaking news that Pepito only had about less than a year to live. Pepito’s parents made sure that they spent every waking hour with their dog because they wanted to be there for Pep as much as possible.

One night, Pepito was having a difficult night, so his parents decided to go to the hospital. As Pepito’s mom carried him in her arms, she felt her dog’s last heartbeat.

Before Pepito passed, he looked up at his fur mom and smiled for the last time. Pepito’s mom shared that it was as if her dog was telling her that they were going to see each other again, and shortly after, they did.

Pepito’s fur mom filled out over twenty applications because she wanted to rescue another dog. Chance’s fur mom was the only one who responded to the request.

Chance and Pepito’s fur mom met and instantly bonded in their first encounter. She said that Chance has a lot of similarities, including the spot in Chance’s belly that Pepito also had, and she was glad that Chance had a piece of Pepito in him.
