Best Dog Breeds For People Who Work All Day

People that work all day should avoid certain dog breeds as pets. Some dogs out there are produced explicitly for hunting or working. They are not suited to wait for you to arrive home each day.  These breeds are very active; German Shepherds, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Border Collies, and German Shepherds. They are not well suited for inactivity or staying alone for long periods.

Strangely, you still find people selecting these breeds. They often make odd decisions about the types of dogs they choose as pets.

Choosing the wrong dog family creates a life for your pet that is not so nice.  Would you like to live most of your life in a cage? Or locked up in a room for a significant part of the day? No interaction with people?  Or an even worse outcome; Finding yourself in an adoption shelter after years of confinement.

Dods need attention; they are social animals. Some dogs are pack animals and need company. Certain breeds need more social interaction and exercise than others.

If you choose wisely, your dog will be perfectly content walking around your home, drinking water, watching birds out the window. No issues will result from a lack of stimulation.

Dogs engage in some of the activities listed below, during the day:

They’ll tend to fall asleep.

They’ll tend to sleep. The average is about 14 hours in any given day. Pups and senior rest even more. And yes, they take naps in between.

They eat

Be careful here. You don’t have lots of food out.  Long term, obesity may result.   Counteract this with toys to help them to play.

The kitchen smells send the dog exploring, trying to find something interesting.

For this reason, you need to have interactive toys. These toys give your dog a great excuse to play during the day. And they will.

Guarding the house

Some dogs are well suited to be guards.  Any suspicious sound an investigation is begun immediately. If there are any suspects in the yard, your dog will notify you. Probably the intruder will receive notification also. They are good at that.

Basset Hound

This dog is an excellent low-energy breed. Being a dog of medium size, it can thrive in an apartment. It loves to cart is nose around seeing what it can find. It can also know as a low activity animal for a considerable portion of the day. In other words, they spend many hours sleeping.

Chihuahua

This dog will thrive left alone in the house. They weight less than three kilos. Many people know them to be aggressive;  possibly because they are small in stature; they often prance around like they own the place. At their level they probably do.

French Bulldog

This dog’s stature is not compatible with long runs. Not occupied, they’ll go ahead and have a nap. They come with low profile faces; this makes it difficult for them to breathe. It is also difficult for them to run. Especially when the weather is humid and hot.

Greyhound

The Greyhound is a large dog. But it’s a couch potato; it likes to be active.  Although, it spends much of its time sleeping. This dog is okay with staying inside crates. They will also are okay with spending time alone for most of the day. It is not, however, advisable to cage a dog all day.

Maltese

This breed would be more than happy sleeping for a considerable portion of the day. And it may love to sleep right behind your sofa. It is not a dog that will make a mess while it is waiting for you to return.
