This short tale tells about a dog who had encountered a lot of ups and downs in his journey but finally landed in a happy family. He is a Saint Bernard dog weighing almost 130 pounds.
His name is Cosmo. He was born in Nebraska in a breeder’s home. Without any apparent reason, the breeder took Cosmo to a shelter home called Hearts United for Animals. Cosmo found the new place a strange one, but the shelter staff claimed he was a very friendly puppy.
The staff observed that Cosmo already liked staying at the shelter, but the team wished that Cosmo could find a place that could permanently call home. So, they posted his picture profile on a pet adoption site and waited for some interested individuals to adopt him.
Luckily, a couple living in New York showed a keen interest in adopting Cosmo. Jayne became fascinated with the dog and wanted to gather him into her family. So, she made a flight going to Nebraska to meet Cosmo.
The moment she saw Cosmo for the first time, she fell in love with this “little” dog. She confirmed that she would adopt him. After completing the adoption papers, she rented a car and drove back from Nebraska to New York. It was almost 1300 miles of travel. Even though Jayne was scared about riding in a car for that long, she noticed that Cosmo enjoyed the trip.
When they arrived in New York, Cosmo saw his new family. In his new home, he faced obstacles that were unique to him like stairs, numerous outdoor expeditionary space and two dogs with which to play.
One of the most exciting parts of Cosmo’s new life was meeting Alice and Owen, Jayne’s children. Days and weeks have passed; Cosmo is developing a closer relationship and friendship with his human sister and brother.
At last, this Saint Bernard found a home along with a loving and caring family. Indeed, he deserves such happiness.
