The Doggy

A Lost Dog Was Found By Her Owner After Seeing Photo On A Beer Can

Sadly, not all dogs get to be reunited with their owners when they get lost. They can be lost forever.

So when Monica Mathis saw her dog's photo on a beer can, she can't contain her happiness.

Hazel, a terrier mix, is owned by Monica Mathis. One day, Hazel was left outside the house on a leash. When Monica was about to get her, she's gone. Monica tried to look for Hazel and did everything to find her, but unfortunately, she didn't.

After Hazel's loss, Monica moved to Minnesota from Iowa, where Hazel got lost. She has accepted the fact that Hazel is gone forever.

It has been three years since Hazel got lost.

In January 2020, Monica spotted a beer promotion on social media of Motorworks Brewing Company, a brewery based in Florida. It features four-packs with photos of dogs in local shelters and asking people to bid for these dogs to raise funds and spur adoptions.

One dog looks familiar in the photo. Monica immediately identified Hazel. She can't help but be excited that she has found Hazel.

However, it's puzzling to know how Hazel got to Florida from Iowa.

Monica immediately called Manatee County Animal Shelter to tell that one of the dogs in the beer can promotion is hers. Manatee County Animal Shelter staff told her to present proof that the dog is Hazel. She sent all photos that could establish the dog's identity.

The staff accepted all the proof Monica has sent to them.

Monica is so happy to be with Hazel again! They are set to be reunited at Hazel's 7th birthday celebration. Friends of Manatee County Animal Shelter funded the transportation cost of Hazel going to Minnesota from Florida.

Monica can't wait for the moment to be with Hazel once again after three long years! She promised that she will not lose her again.
