Every difficulty is a blessing in disguise, and that’s what Darius Brown has clearly proved to the world.
Darius is a 12-year-old kid that makes bow ties for shelter dogs for free. His main objective for creating excellent ties is to make them more attractive and increase their chances of being adopted.
There are also bow ties that he sells, which his buyers love. He is the living endorser of his products because he himself wears them!
For each purchased bowtie, the wonder kid sends a donation to the American SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). This fantastic effort is Darius’s way of doing his part in improving animals’ welfare — especially dogs. Since he is a dog lover himself, he wants to do what he can to better improve their lives.
But even with Darius’s amazing heart and entrepreneurial skills, it is hard to think that he had a very challenging start in life, but sadly, he had. At a very young age of two, Darius was diagnosed with developmental delays, making it difficult for him to accomplish simple tasks. But his mother and sister were determined to do everything they can to help him live a normal life.
Darius had a problem with his hand movements, making it hard for him to even tie his shoes. That is why his mother and sister started to improve this particular problem by encouraging him to help them with sewing. To their surprise, not only did Darius’ hand movements improved, but they also discovered his talent in craft and sewing!
And that’s when he started sewing his bow ties. After a lot of time and practice, his bowties have improved, which led him to the idea that he could use it as a tool to help dogs, which he dearly loves.
His family threw their full support on him, which made his mission a total success. In fact, Darius’ cause became so successful that it caught the attention of the then U.S President Barack Obama. The President sent him a letter expressing how proud he was at what Darius was doing. Obama encouraged him to continue his noble mission to inspire more people.
Indeed, Darius’ story is really uplifting and proves that every problem, no matter how big, is actually a blessing in disguise.
