A sad-looking dog was found outside of someone's home. Nobody knew where he came from or how he got there. He just appeared out of nowhere.
There was something quite unique about this canine. He looked like he was crying. That's because there are always tears in his eyes.
A few people noticed his situation, and they wanted to help him. They asked a vet to help and check his health. The dog was positive for heartworms. The rescuers also asked why the dog looked like he was crying all the time.
The vet said that having teary eyes is one of the symptoms of late-stage heartworms. The dog named Ddakji needed to be treated right away. The doctor considers the treatment to be very risky, but he did it anyway.
Thankfully, Ddakji pulled through. After his treatment, he looked like a different dog. He doesn't squint anymore because there were no more tears in his eyes. Ddakji's beautiful round eyes are the first thing that people noticed.
Since the Ddakji condition is almost back to normal, it was time to heal him emotionally. He needed a family, and he got it.
A couple had a dog named Mong, who just passed away. Mong has been with them for eight years, and it broke their heart to see him go.
When the couple saw Ddakji's story on the news, their heart broke for him too. They didn't want the poor dog to feel lonely. They know too well the pain of losing someone. The couple assumed Ddakji must have lost his family also.
The couple and Ddakji are filling each other's emptiness. The day that the couple adopted Ddakji is the day that they became a family.
They will now heal each other's broken hearts. The couple also renamed Ddakji, Mideum. Mideum means faith.
They named their new dog as such because they are giving each other the trust. The trust that they are always going to be there for each other. They have faith that they will always be a family.
