Meet Toby. He is an attentive and sweet rescue pup who lives somewhere in Canada with his adoptive mom, Ruth Hamilton.
Since she had him, the dog has been her inseparable friend. However, recently, Toby also proved himself to be her mom’s hero.
Last week, Hamilton was in her bed asleep when, at about 11:30, she was disturbed by a shocking sound. It’s Toby – and he seemed to tell an urgent message.
According to Hamilton, he barked two times, as if to tell her to get up. It’s a very loud bark. Her family wants to believe that Toby caused her to roll over. And it was a great thing he did.
A few moments later, Hamilton heard a strike directly overhead. Unbelievably, a fairly large chunk of meteor had, unfortunately, come crashing through her house at a quick speed, landing almost exactly at the spot where she’d been sleeping.
Hamilton said that she jumped out of bed and was completely uninjured. Toby stopped barking, and she thought if that incident really happened.
She later reported it, and it’s confirmed that the fallen rock was most probably from outer space. Some other witnesses in their area also confirmed to have seen a meteor striking Earth that same evening.
The warning Hamilton had gotten from Toby may have gratefully saved her life. However, how did the dog know a couple of moments beforehand?
According to Hamilton, she was told that sometimes there’s a bang when meteors get in the atmosphere. Toby might have been acknowledging it. Being a pup, his hearing is a lot better than ours. However, we won’t know for sure.
Hamilton’s dog has always been so quick to notify her of the cars approaching or the sound of animals outside.
But evidently, Toby’s alertness is not exclusive to earthly dangers only.
The hole in Hamilton’s house has to be fixed, of course. But that scary incident could’ve ended even worse if it were not for the pup that she rescued.
She said adding with a laugh that Toby has been a great company. She loves him. Her grandchildren think that “Paw Patrol” should create an episode about him.
