In South Korea, stray dogs are killed and served for dinner. The good thing is that there are animal rescuers from Washington D.C. traveling back and forth to rescue stray animals throughout the country. These dogs were kept in South Korea in a disgraceful condition until the time they are ready for slaughter. The meat of the dogs is sold in the market.
Through the rescue team, the dogs including puppies and adult dogs were transported to Pittsburgh. The dogs are turned over to a shelter and are given medical care. Once they are in good condition, the canines are included in the list of dogs for adoption.
This mission of the animal rescue team is to give a new life to stray dogs that they deserve. Likewise, the Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team also aims to end the traditional practice of killing animals and eating its meat.
It is apparent that there are countries throughout the world wherein slaughtering of animals is legal. Such practice is not inhumane considering that humans were the ones killing the animals. But there are other countries importing animals such as dogs for pets.
If not for the animal rescue team that is concerned about the welfare of those poor animals, the practice of brutally killing dogs will continue. Hopefully, more organizations that protect animals will continue to promote and implement programs of rescuing stray animals and have them listed for adoption.
Such a program would not only save a life but also promote a better life for animals. We should keep in mind that animals are God’s creation too. That’s why we have the responsibility to protect them from people who are unmercifully killing them.
According to the co-founder animal shelter Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team, they will continue to implement their program until animal killings end.
